Another post about food? I told you I’m always planning my meals! This post needs to go up now because it’s about a promotion in Cape Town running from the 5th to the 11th of November.
I really love food and fine dining, but a student budget doesn’t always allow for the suave experiences. That’s why I am permanently on the look out for seasonal specials, and I fortunately found this gem whilst listening to KFM on the way back from my boxing session.
Where: Foxcroft Restaurant
What you’ll get: 4-course dinner pairing experience
Price: R350 per person
When: 5-11 November
How to get this deal: Book via the DinePlan app and apply promo code CAPETALK Download the app here: http://bit.ly/2AIjLWi

We first found Foxcroft when we were in desperate need of a Christmas lunch booking last December. Foxcroft is the little brother of one of South Africa’s best and most renowned restaurants - La Colombe, and is situated just outside Groot Constantia. It’s the perfect spot for a lunch in the summer, or a wonderful dinner in the winter - and the ambience is more relaxed and charming than a very formal fine dining setting.
The menu is set at 4 courses which includes the Foxcroft bread, 2 tapas, 1 main and 1 dessert. The food served varies with each season, and there is always an exciting dish or combination that you never would have dreamed to pair! Trust me, if the food sounds weird, just try it - you will be wildly surprised and amazed (I chose a turnip gratin tapas at Christmas and I’ve been drooling over it ever since). So don't be afraid to take those risks!
The food is melt-in-your-mouth fantastic and the presentation makes you want to take out your phone and share all the courses on your Instagram story to be the envy of all your friends.
I’ll be going for this special during this week, and I will hopefully make a new post for the Foxcroft pairing after the experience (read: if my photos have perfect lighting and are to my standards), but I will leave you with a few samples of what our Christmas lunch looked like last year.
Potato sourdough and roast chicken butter | Amuse bouche | Duck liver parfait with Christmas cake and cured beet | Pan-roasted game with confit onions and cherry jus | Hilton Bleu Cremeux with peppered walnut, pickled apple and candied sourdough | Petit fours
Foxcroft also has a few seasonal specials of their own, which you can view on their website.
I hope some of you can make use of this incredible offer!
